70 years ago today, the 6th of August the United States
government committed an atrocity of almost unimaginable proportions,
dropping an atomic weapon on the people of Hiroshima, Japan, without
warning.

80,000 men women and children, young and old, were killed where they
walked, sat and lay. Of those who weren’t killed instantly, another
60,000 would die of radiation poisoning by the end of that year.

95% of those killed were women, children and other non-combatants.
