I think the only thing messing with my theory that Star Trek Discovery will be about Number One from “The Cage” is that Bryan Fuller has already said it will be all new characters.

Technically, she is almost new in that she never had a name nor was she ever seen beyond that one episode. Non-canon novels and comics gave her different names and backstories. But she would certainly be around at the time the new show takes place so they could use her. Star Trek Discovery takes place around 2256 and “The Cage” is established as taking place in 2254 so who knows? Maybe she was reassigned after those events and ended up on the Discovery serving under a new captain.

And I still like my idea to cast Caroline Dhavernas as Number One because she’s a regular Bryan Fuller player, she could pass for Majel Barrett, and carries on the tradition of casting Montrealers on Star Trek.
