What really worries me about the Trump/Clinton duopoly is how, in the last few months, events have taken a turn into Robocop territory. Suddenly things that were considered outrageous or bizarre have become mundane and commonplace.The anxiety comes now not from wondering ‘’What terrible thing will happen next?’’ but ‘’How soon before something terrible happens?’’. And the fact that all coming disasters and disgraces will be cause, to some (maybe most) people, of infinite mirth. If there is a deity running things lately it has turned into an easily bored, capricious and cruel eleven year old kid.
